This tour suits travelers who want one day in Konya built around Mevlana, Seljuk architecture and Neolithic history. It fits visitors who are already touring Turkey by way of Cappadocia or the south and need a single day in the city without arranging taxis between sites. Anyone interested in old tilework will enjoy the Karatay Madrasa, and the Çatalhöyük site shows how people lived before streets existed. Families with children should know that the Çatalhöyük trenches are open ground and can be hot and dusty. Because the tour is private, the group can spend more time at the stops it likes most.
Konya has hot summers and cold winters, so spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for walking between the sites. Konya Airport serves the city, and many visitors also arrive by high-speed train from Ankara. Flights and train tickets to the starting city are not included in the tour price. Plan your arrival first, then share the arrival time and the airport or station with us when you ask for a price, so the pick-up time suits your schedule. Pack water for the afternoon, since the site lies outside the city.

Yes, the afternoon stop is Çatalhöyük. The site lies about 50 kilometers southeast of Konya near Çumra, so it takes up a good part of the afternoon. If you prefer a shorter day in the city, tell us when you request a price and the guide can drop that stop.
Yes. Cover your shoulders and knees, and remove your shoes where your guide asks you to. A light scarf is useful for women, since the Mevlana Museum and Alaaddin Mosque both contain sacred spaces. Dress for a short walk around the courtyards as well.
The price includes lunch at a local restaurant with a soft drink. Tips and optional tours are extra, so keep some cash on hand for tipping. Mention any dietary needs when you book, so the lunch stop can be planned for everyone.
Sema ceremonies are held at the Mevlana Cultural Center in Konya, usually on Saturday evenings, after this tour ends. Tell us your dates and we check the program for you. The Mevlana Museum can be visited on any day of the tour.
